IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT CHILD CARE PROVIDER ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
The Federal Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG)
Reauthorization Act of 2014 increases the health and safety requirements for all child care and early learning programs that accept
child care subsidies. These changes include such provisions as ensuring that all providers are meeting all of the building codes,
expanding who must get a criminal background check and requiring staff to take numerous health and safety trainings. Attendance at
and completion of the required health and safety trainings will be tracked in the NJ Workforce Registry. For more information, go to
NJ Workforce Registry members seeking to become approved Professional Development (PD) Providers can access the required Core Knowledge and
Competencies for Early Childhood Professionals lessons and quizzes by logging into your NJ Workforce Registry profile and clicking on My
Resources – Resource Documents in the left-hand sidebar, and then scrolling down to Professional Development Provider System Requirements.
